Carnival Cruise Line
Carnival Cruise Line Fleet
Carnival Cruise Lines holds the
distinction of being the largest cruise line in the world.
Founded in 1972, it originally had a reputation as the
industry's "young peoples' party till you drop cruise line".
In the last few years Carnival has taken great strides to
alleviate that stigma, and while the typical decor is still
"Las Vegas flashy", they appeal to a much broader
demographic, particularly families. The plush robes and
"Comfort Beds" with quality bedding, standard in all
staterooms, are examples of how they are enhancing
their product. Many of their older ships offer 3-5 night
short haul itineraries that have become quite popular with
the U.S. market.
Carnival has recently unveiled a
very special dining event for just 12 guests, book the
Chef's Table through the ship's information desk. For $75,
diners can attend a multi-course dinner hosted by one
Carnival's master chefs. The evening begins with a private
cocktail reception and a tour of the galley led by the chef,
and concludes with a sumptuous dinner in a non-traditional
dining venue, such as the galley or the library. Launched as
a pilot program aboard the Carnival Dream and Carnival
Ecstasy, it is being gradually rolled out on the Liberty, Imagination, Inspiration, Sensation, Pride
and Fascination.
