This was our first cruise. We liked being able to leave
from the port of New York. We did not want the added
expense of flying. The boarding process was quick and
painless. We boarded at about 2:00pm and our luggage and
cabin were ready by 3:00pm.
The Miracle is a beautiful, open and very clean ship. The
staff was great! Our son was sick for two day and our cabin
steward was very understanding and courteous when we asked
that we not be disturbed. We had a balcony suite which was
worth the extra price. Many of our friends advised us that
we would not be spending a lot of time in our cabin but we
actually enjoyed our room. It was so quiet and cozy! The bed
was extremely comfortable. Lounging out on our private
balcony was just great!
The food was very good but the selections where your average
fair.
Our only complaint was the lack of entertainment on board.
Granted, the weather was not good so many of the planned
outdoor activities where canceled because of high winds.
There was a sliding roof for the main pool but I can't
figure out why it was never used. It was too cold to use
the pools and the hot tubs were always crowded.
We didn't do any shore tours. Just went swimming,
snorkeling and walked around a bit. Half Moon Cay was very
nice. We did some shopping in the pouring rain while in
Nassau.
Overall, we give Carnival high marks and we are looking
forward to sailing with them again.
