Boardwalk Overview and
the Loft Suites
Looking from the Aqua
Theater stage up at Boardwalk, one gets a good feeling of
just how large this ship is. The suites at the top of the
photo between the two rock climbing walls are the impressive
"Loft Suites" that overlook all the activity on the sports
deck and Boardwalk.
The Oasis of the Seas
Aqua Theater
I hate to use the word WOW
again, but WOW! This venue is very close to my heart as I
was a diver in High School and College. I was never very
good at it because I was too lanky, but I loved the sport.
The Aqua Theater features a 3 meter springboard, a 7 meter
tower, 10 meter tower and the highest tower is 13 metes
(roughly 43 feet high). If you have ever dove from a 10
meter tower, you can start to appreciate just how dramatic
this venue is. Couple that with a pool that has various
fountains and stages, wild lighting effect and you start to
get an idea of what this is all about. There are two shows
daily making this a "Don't Miss" venue on the Oasis of the
Seas! Note that there are two huge flat screen monitors, one
on each side of the pool so that everyone can clearly see
what's going on.
The Boardwalk Bar
The Boardwalk Bar is
located right at the top of the Aqua Theater seating area so
that if one wants a libation while enjoying the show, you
don't have far to walk.
The Seafood Shack
While we did not get an
opportunity to dine here, this restaurant has received rave
reviews to the point where people were lined up for its
opening for lunch.

The Boardwalk is the kid's
favorite area to hang at and dining at the Seafood Shack
just adds one more dimension to the experience
Johnny Rockets
Royal Caribbean's signature
Johnny Rockets Restaurant is a huge hit with the kids and
adults alike. This burger joint is great! Johnny Rockets is
directly across from the Seafood Shack.
Star Pier Entrance
The Boardwalk has several
shops on it that everyone will enjoy.

Passengers can find lots to
consider buying in the Star Pier. Primarily targeted at
teens, they can find tons of stuff to wear on the cruise
here.

burgers, malts, candy, it is no wonder kids love this place.

What would a Boardwalk be

No, you can't bring your
dog with you on the cruise!

favorite pet, dress it and have it stuffed to your liking.
These make great gifts for children or a remembrance from
the cruise.

sized and functional carousel that kids just love (adults

popular venue with everyone.

real thing. Several flavors are offered and they are yummy!

From the Royal Promenade
While the Boardwalk is a
huge area, it is only just the beginning as when we exit the
Boardwalk and enter the upper level of the Royal Promenade,
one is dazzled by the scope of it. While the majority of the
Royal Promenade is located on deck 5, you will see Focus on
your right.
Focus
Royal Caribbean has done
wonders with Focus. First of all, it is located out of the
way of the normal flow of traffic across the ship. Virtually
all ships have the photo gallery somewhere between the
restaurant and the showroom. This makes it difficult to
navigate your way through throngs of people admiring their
photos. I understand the reasoning behind it, but it is
irritating if you are trying to get from one point to
another. Focus solves every potential problem quite nicely.
Current Photos on Display
Every passenger on the
Oasis is assigned a folio number that appears right on their
seapass card. This number includes a tower number and folio
number. All of your pictures are displayed for a short
period of time and then moved into your folio.

All one has to do is find
their tower and then their folio and they can view all of
their photos deciding on which ones to purchase. This is a
GREAT system and resolves what would potentially be a
disaster when all 5,400 passengers want to view their photos
at the same time.
Adventures With RCI
Booking tours on the Oasis
of the Seas is quite easily done from your stateroom. The
flat screen T.V. is also a computer and the Oasis has
automated everything. You can make show reservations, dinner
reservations, check your account and book shore excursions.
Your seapass card deals with everything, as well. Let's say
that you book a reservation for the Comedy Club, you simply
swipe your seapass card at the door and enter. The Oasis of
the Seas is embracing technology in a way to make the normal
hassles disappear.
The Schooner Bar
Another signature venue for
Royal Caribbean is the Schooner Bar and this one is
beautiful. It is located off of the Royal Promenade up on
deck 6 and offers a very intimate environment.
Vitality at Sea Spa and
Fitness Center
The Vitality at Sea Spa and
fitness center is awesome!
The Vitality Cafe
Just inside the Vitality at
Sea entrance lies the Vitality Cafe. Healthy choices are
served here. This is a great spot for a quick and healthy
bite to eat

The salon offers all salon
services in a beautiful setting.

Complete spa services are
also available and the spa area is simply huge, as one might
suspect.

Fitness Center
But, it is the fitness
center that really got me excited. There is everything here
to keep you on your routine without missing a beat. High
quality machines that will work you just like your gym at
home.

If you use free weights
there is also an excellent assortment of weights and
benches.

Machines
The fitness center also
offers a good assortment of cardio machines. All in all,
this fitness center is just as good as your fitness center
at home.
The Jogging Track
You can enter the enclosed
jogging track by exiting the fitness center through the door
that goes down to the jogging track on deck 5. This track is
well lit and ventilated. Note that the above shot is the
track as it traverses the WIDTH of the Oasis of the Seas.
